It's demeaning really, the whole dog bowl thing.
Una knew that the wolfman was good in intention and he knew his trade, he had bred and raised all the dogs in his acts. Mostly mongrels, no purebred in them and now way in hell were those dogs actually wolves, but they looked good. Big. Scary mutts with big old teeth. Soft as silk though, good dogs, well trained and Una gave him credit for that. Well, she would if pushed to give praise, which she rarely did.
But she despised how he would leave a dog bowl with water by his van for the doctor. Certainly, that was his current form but he was no dog. She would see the doctor use it, now and then. She thought it more for the Wolfman, as some twisted gratitude, than his own thirst.
Una would not allow this in her home.
Despite disbelieving in this "so-called-doctor's prowess" before hand, after the first moon that he had tended to her, Una had to accept that his stitchwork was fine and that perhaps his certificate was not fake at all. It was a few days after, having come back from a Biter market and sold quite a bit of her wares, that she eventually thanked the doctor for his work and offered to make him tea. Hers in a fine boned cup. His in a large deep bowl, handmade and a soft green, rather like the kind you would use for soup.
Una, was sat in her nook, where the evening sun would hit her back and warm her hair nicely, and smiled beneath the curve of her cup as the good doctor drank from his seat on the floor.
He may not be able to drink from a cup but he would at least drink from good china.
Una and the good doctor are mine.
